Adventure Sketch Book

A friend of mine gave me this cute little sketch book, and the insides are just begging to be sketched on! I wanted to jazz up the cover, so I used the Show & Tell kit to prettify it!

I love things that are dimensional and pop off the page. These layers are so inviting to me.

Y'all know I love these jumbo clips! I think these will be great to mark my place in the sketch book. But for now, they'll sit right here on the front for all to see!

TOMORROW are the subscription openings for the new term! Even current subscribers need to subscribe! Set a reminder on your phone! ;)

Show and Tell Daily Diary Pocket Letter

Hello! Michelle Zerull here, to share a Pocket Letter that I've put together with the NoelMignon Show and Tell Daily Diary Kit

Pocket Letters are letters that are shared in pockets! After decorating and filling the pockets, you mail the entire sheet to a friend or penpal.  It's so fun!

There are numerous embellishments in this kit, including the Crate Paper Puffy Stickers.
My Favorite!

I hope you find a few minutes today to create something wonderful.
Enjoy!

Hand-Stitching with Show and Tell

Good morning! The design team members were asked to share a technique this week and I'm not a very technique-y scrapbooker, but there are some things that I turn to time and time again. I decided to share my hand-stitching process with you. This is definitely a tutorial for the clueless, those who have never picked up a needle and thread. If you've cross-stitched or similar, you might want to skip on past. :)

After deciding what I wanted to hand-stitch, I drew the shape with a faint pencil line.

Once you have your shape drawn, you will need a wide-eyed needle, embroidery floss, a paper piercer (found at most big box craft stores), and something soft and cushy to pierce the holes on (I used a sheet of felt, but if you have a mouse pad, that works awesomely).

Now just poke holes along the pencil line, trying to space the holes evenly. Make sure the holes aren't too close together though, or you'll risk tearing two holes into one big hole once you start stitching. Erase the pencil line after all the holes are poked.

Next, thread up your needle. Pull the floss through your needle just a little bit so you have a small portion that is doubled up. Pull this thread through the backside of the page, first hole. Tie a knot once the thread is pulled mostly all the way through.

I did a backstitch so I went through the back of hole 1, and down through the top of hole 2.

Now go up through the backside of hole 3. Then you will go back to hole 2 and pull the needle through the top side of hole 2.

Keep stitching like this until your shape is completed. Tie a knot in the thread once you are finished or just secure with a piece of washi and trim the extras.

It's not rocket science, but it's fun and adds texture and dimension to your pages with just a little bit of work.

My finished pocket page. I used Becky Higgins Design E for the page protector, which has 4 6x6 pockets. I've never used this design before but decided to treat every pocket like a mini layout.

I used the ribbon from the Classic Kit and pleated and then used my sewing machine to secure it. I love the texture of the pleat.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have you seen the new October kits? Come check out the Blue Moon Classic Kit and the Daily Diary Kit.

You color my world!

Hey guys, Michelle here! I have a super easy card making technique to share today using those great templates that were in the Country Life kit. I love that Noel's kits have items included that can be used with future projects like the templates, washi, mist, stamps, etc.
So I took the heart template and some patterned paper from the Show & Tell kit and spritzed with some Heidi Swapp color shine in Tinsel. Then I took the same template on another sheet & rubbed some ink over the template. You have to hold onto the template and paper well so that it doesn't shift but you could also use some washi (that's not very sticky) or painter's tape to hold it in place while inking.
There are a lot of different techniques that you could use to play with these templates. I actually just bought some Gelatos to play with that would work wonderfully with templates like these!

Then I stamped that cute sentiment from the Lawn Fawn stamp in the Show & Tell kit. I also stamped the crayon, colored with colored pencils, fussy cut, & then attached to my card.
And there you go!! Two simple cards made using a simple techniques!

Don't forget the new Blue Moon kits are now available!! Be sure to snatch one up before they're gone...and trust me, they are ah-mazing!!

Note - the Show & Tell and Country Life classic kits are sold out but there are still a few Daily Diary kits here and here!

Til next time friends :)

NoelMignon Show and Tell Stamping Tutorial

Hello! Michelle Zerull here, to share a stamping tutorial that allows you to use your stamps in a new way. It's like getting additional stamps for free!

The Cherish Stamp Set by Heidi Swapp is included in your Show and Tell Daily Diary Kit. The set includes a darling stamp that says "I love your__________." That's a fun stamp to use! Now let me show you how to turn it into an "I love you" sentiment that can be used year-round.

  1.  Remove the "I love your ______" stamp from the sheet and place it on a clear acrylic block. Hint: If your don't have an acrylic block, you can place it on the bottom of a drinking glass or glass from a photo frame.) As long as the item is smooth and flat, your stamp will adhere.
  2.  Cover the letter "R" and the blank line with washi tape. I used the washi from the August 2015 "Country Life" Daily Diary Kit. Masking Tape will also work, but the tape needs to be removeable. Now ink your stamp with the tape STILL ON the stamp.
  3.  Carefully peel up the tape and dispose of it. The ink is now only on the "I love you" portion of the stamp.
  4.  Stamp the stamp onto a clean, dry paper. I used one of the tags included in the kit.
Now you have a little love note for your perfect someone.
Happy Stamping!

Pure Joy-"Show & Tell Classic Kit"

Hello! Thank you for visiting the Noel Mignon Blog today!  I'm sharing my latest layout using the "Show & Tell" Classic Kit. This week you will be going "Back to School" with the Design Team as we share a few of our favorite techniques with you.

My first "technique" has to do with photography.  I love when I am lucky enough to capture a split second of emotion in my photos---so I couldn't wait to scrapbook this photo of my son getting ready to walk out the door on his very first day of school ever.  He was so excited and his backpack was so heavy he was trying to put it on without picking it up.

One way to capture emotion in a photograph, is to be patient and sit back (ready with your camera in hand) and wait.  With kiddos, you can't "stage" their emotion, so you have to sit back and wait for it to happen---and eventually, it will.

The other techniques on this layout all have a similar theme--utilizing scraps.

I adore so many pattern papers in this kit that I was down to a few strips and scraps that matched the colors in this photo.  I really wanted those patterns on this layout, therefore, I decided to put those scraps to work for me.

I used some of the scraps in strips to create the an interesting background for the layout.  This was rally simple to do.  They were already in thin strips, so I cut them to various lengths, inked the edges, and placed them on the layout.

I used one of the scraps and fussy cut 4 flash cards from the pattern to use as embellishments.

And finally I used a 1" circle punch to cut a clock from another scrap.  Then I covered the circle with a 1" adhesive epoxy circle, creating my own little DIY flair embellishment.

I hope that I inspired you to try capturing even more emotion in your upcoming photographs, after all, the photographs and stories are the reason we scrapbook!  I also hope you are inspired to use up some scraps on your next layout---it makes your Noel Mignon kit last even longer!

Back to School with Show & Tell

Howdy Peeps! I'm back with another project life page using the oh so fabulous Show & Tell Daily Diary Kit. This week the Design Team is Back to School. We are teaching a technique that we hope inspires you. I used a 12x12 pocket page that has 3x3 pockets. Decorating smaller squares can be challenging. I have found that layering smaller embellishments can give you some depth without bulk. Here's my whole page ...
I used a variety of small embellishments from stickers to cut aparts to puffy stickers from Crate Paper and layered them on the cards.
Several of the cards have gold triangle vellum over the patterned paper - it softens the look and adds pops of gold.

I layered some patterned paper behind the butterfly cut out ...
This last card has lots of small embellishments but it doesn't compete with the photo ...
I hope a few of these tips will inspire you as you create your pockets pages with the Daily Diary Kits!!! Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned all week for more techniques for the team!!! have a great week!

A Show and Tell Pocket Page

Happy Weekend Everyone! I'm back with another project using this month's "Show and Tell" Daily Diary Kit. Last week I shared a mini file folder created for project life cards. Today I created a Project Life page focusing on My Mind's Eye My Story products included in this month's kit. I love the color palette of this collection, and the gold elements are gorgeous! Here's my page.
My photos this week are approx. 2.75 square and I backed them with fun foam to give them dimension and to allow embellishments to go over and under the photo for even more depth. I layered rub-ons, enamel shapes and brads on the cards. I also added some stamping with the adorable Heidi Swapp Stamp set included in the Daily Diary Kit.
The mason jar wood veneer shape is from this month's Classic Kit and I outlined the jar with the fun gold uni-ball pen also from the Classic Lit. I stamped on the wood veneer jar which I haven't done before and I like how it came out!

I used a rub on directly on a photo and added some ribbon and paper under the bottom of the photo - the brads that I used are also from MME My Story collection and I cut off the prongs on the back so they would lie flat.
The last card has some ribbon on the back of the heart cut out which coordinates with all the gold elements in the collection.
I hope this page gives you some ideas on how to used this month's Daily Diary Kit.  I will be back this coming Tuesday with another Project Life page using this awesome kit. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!!

first day of school

It's back to school time!!! And that means school layouts with the Show & Tell kit! I usually like to get these first day of school photos scrapped quickly so I can pop them right in my kids' school albums.
This year I got to do 3 layouts because my youngest started preschool {sniff sniff}

I loved what Brenda did with the alphas on her layout earlier this week (seen here) so I decided to lift that idea for the title of my page!
I used all of the great embellishments in the classic kit to fill in the spots. And it was perfect that I had the #4 in my kit...perfect for my sweet 4 yr old :)
For my older 2 kiddos I opted to do the same design for their pages but using different papers & embellishments to create a different look. I've mentioned before that I like to do this when I have multiple pages to create on the same subject with my kids (school, sports, etc). It just makes life easier!
You can see that even though they both have the same basic design, they look totally different. I seem to go back and forth with stitching on my pages and since I had my sewing machine out I decided to add some stitching to finish off my pages.

If you missed out on the Show & Tell classic kit there are a few Daily Diary kits left!!
